At Orange Caterpillar we believe that every child must benefit from a high quality learning environment. We inspire and motivate all those working within the early years so that they deepen their knowledge and experience, provide an exceptional connection to families and children and have the skill set to deliver innovative early years care and education.
Hi, I'm Alison, I started Orange Caterpillar in 2014 after a long career in Early Years culminating in a role as an Early Years Development Officer for Brighton and Hove City Council.
I've held many roles, all important to my journey and valuable experiences. Private nanny, teaching assistant in a special school, childminder, nursery practitioner, cr?che manager, Early Years Teacher, EYFS Lead and Pre-School SEN Advisor.
I am a huge advocate of Continued Personal and Professional Development gaining a BA in Professional Studies, Learning and Development and Early Years Professional Status (now Early Years Teacher/EYT) over 13 years ago. I have been awarded 'Gold Standard Reliability' in using the Sustained Shared Thinking and Emotional Wellbeing (SSTEW) scales, am a SchemaPlay accredited trainer and a NSPCC trained trainer.
Personally developing as a Parent Governor, family advocate and PTA member, I also mentor Early Years Initial Teacher Training students at the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex.
